My Favorite Hobby

 

My favorite hobby sounds a little hobby may sound odd but its really just Driving. I just enjoy getting in my car and just driving around. Most of the time I don't really know where I'm going i just enjoy driving around. Just listening to good music and just being outside driving around is something i really enjoy. Its even better when i get a couple of my friends with me and we just all go out and have a nice drive.


Occasionally its not just driving and ill go off roading. That's always a ton of fun, i usually go to the Trabuco hills. Its something I don't do that often but when I do do it it just the best time. Its kinda scary for me because while my friends are all having a blast i am to but I'm also worried that i might crash or hit something and ruin my car.

 I think I really enjoy driving because in its weird way its therapy for me. Just driving around clears my mind. It releases me from all the worries of the world and helps me think clearly on problems I might be having. It just a form of escapism that i really enjoy. A plus is that from just driving around i come across cool new places to see and hangout at.

Being Charitable

The charity I would choose to donate one million dollars if I was chosen to receive the money would be the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Their main goal is to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. They hope to achieve this goal by funding scientific research and promote policies and legislation that impact suicide and prevention. They also want to inform the public about mood disorders and suicide prevention.

This charity hits home for me because depression one of the main causes of suicide runs in my family. Depression is something that my mom has been diagnosed with and so have I. One of my brothers hasn't been diagnosed with it but has said he has symptoms of depression. No one in my family has committed suicide but depression is so closely linked that I wouldn't want anyone in my family to do that act and would want to donate to help others and help prevent more people from committing suicide.

While no one in my family has ever committed suicide I have a couple friends who have said they have thought about committing suicide. I also have some of those friends who have tried to actually end heir own life. But I'm very lucky to say that either I or someone else has stopped them from finishing the act or talked them out of doing it. Suicide and depression hit home for me and if i was lucky enough to receive this million dollars i would donate it to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention so they could help others.

About Me

My name is Jason Nathanael Mejia Gomez. Somethings about me are I am eighteen. I use to go to Newport Harbor High school i now attend Back Bay High school. When I was at Newport Harbor I was in the football team for two years. I was also in track and field for about three and a half years. I was a thrower and threw the shot put and discus.

I enjoy being outside and going to different places and exploring. One of my favorite places to go to and explore is the Santiago and Trabuco Canyon area. I like to go off roading there in my jeep. I also like to just go there and explore all around and find different paths and things like that. Going there also helps me relax and clear my mind.

On a regular day I go to school then after school i like to go hangout with friends. We'll usually just go get something to eat and just hangout. We might go somewhere around the Newport and Costa Mesa area or we might go as far as upland.
